How Has Your Beauty Routine Evolved During COVID
Although the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a time of stress and uncertainty, the more relaxed atmosphere of staying home has presented some unexpected benefits. When it comes to beauty, for instance, with remote work becoming the norm and large social gatherings off the table for the foreseeable future, many have found that investing excessive time into their beauty rituals feels less essential. As a result, numerous individuals have chosen to embrace their natural appearance and have adapted comfortably to this unusual reality while maintaining a fresh and healthy look. Explore the beauty practices and self-care routines that the team at Daitrl has been engaging in during this time.
Skincare
“I’ve been prioritizing skincare recently! In the evenings, I use a reusable makeup wipe to take off my makeup, and then I cleanse my face with a gentle honey cleanser to eliminate any residue. I follow this with a vitamin C toner and a retinol cream, letting it absorb for around 20 minutes. Next, I apply a nighttime moisturizer along with an overnight lip mask. In the mornings, I repeat the cleansing process, use a mushroom serum, then apply my daily moisturizer followed by sunscreen. This added attention to my skincare has been incredibly beneficial for my complexion.”
Essentials First
“My beauty routine has become far more straightforward: natural nails, minimal feel-good makeup, and messy buns have become my daily staples. I’ve really figured out what’s necessary for me, and what I can easily forgo (farewell, costly gel manicures).”
A New Hairstyle
“I’ve decided to let my hair grow (long hair is the new short!), I’m air-drying it after showers, and I’m using fewer heat-styling tools to give my hair a well-deserved break (one of the perks of working remotely!). The difference in my hair’s texture is really noticeable.”
Going Makeup-Free
“I’m taking advantage of this time to let my skin breathe by avoiding makeup as much as possible. I think my foundation bottle might be collecting dust at this point. The only product I’ve made a point of using more frequently is mineral sunscreen. I try to reapply it as needed when I’m outside, especially on my hands since frequent sanitizing can remove it.”
Embracing Simplicity
“I no longer get manicures, and that’s perfectly fine with me! I still make sure to shower and apply a bit of makeup daily – it lifts my spirits and helps me maintain a routine. However, I truly appreciate the chance to slow down and not stress over regular appointments for hair and other beauty treatments.”
