Plant Party!

Redfoo plant party

Redfoo of LMFAO and his partner Jazzy are embracing their new venture, Party Rock Farmhouse, a show dedicated to their passion for animals, vegan cooking, and advocating for a plant-based lifestyle.

While one might not equate farm life with a Grammy-nominated artist, that’s precisely where Redfoo, whose real name is Stefan Kendal Gordy, finds fulfillment today. As part of the electronic dance duo LMFAO, renowned for their 2011 anthem “Party Rock Anthem,” Redfoo has transitioned from the high-energy party scene to a serene life in Calabasas. He shares this lifestyle with his partner Jasmine “Jazzy” Alkouri, their daughter Ily, and several rescued farm animals, including pigs, cows, and turkeys.

Through the launch of Party Rock Farmhouse, Redfoo aims to showcase his evolution from a party enthusiast to a devoted plant parent, demonstrating how embracing a vegan diet can bring about positive change.

Planting New Insights

Redfoo’s journey to veganism wasn’t a given. After receiving concerning health results while following a Keto diet, he recognized the need for a change. “I felt fine and was active, but my blood test revealed alarming cholesterol levels—over 600. That was a wake-up call for me,” he recalls. After years of a chaotic touring lifestyle, prioritizing his health became essential.

The switch to veganism turned out to be beneficial for Redfoo. Studies indicate that plant-based diets contribute to numerous health advantages, such as a significant reduction in the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and lower incidences of prostate cancer.

Jazzy, his partner, has played a pivotal role not only in his life but also in his health transformation. “We began our journey while working together. We thrived on finding healthy food options, often reading labels and avoiding anything too processed,” he adds.

As a music producer, Redfoo understands how impactful music can be on emotions. After discovering the profound effect that food can have on well-being, he started to reshape the future for himself and his family. “Feeling good and being healthy is the pinnacle of well-being,” he emphasizes.

The Pet Enabler

Redfoo and Jazzy enhanced their plant-focused lifestyle when they relocated to a spacious property beyond Los Angeles. “We were unable to secure a condo in West Hollywood due to our Saint Bernard, which drove our search for more outdoor space,” Jazzy explains, emphasizing her lifelong love of animals. “We jokingly refer to him as our ‘gateway dog.’”

The couple’s home now includes various rescue dogs, two pigs, and many turkeys. Daily interactions with these animals further solidify their commitment to veganism. “We aim to embrace a lifestyle that’s as natural as possible. Choosing a vegan lifestyle is a deliberate choice. What you consume extends beyond yourself—it influences how you feel and treat others,” Redfoo expresses. “It’s about fostering love for everyone, including animals and the environment.”

Let’s Cook Up a Storm

The shift to a plant-based diet can seem daunting, yet Jazzy’s enthusiasm for cooking ensures that meals are always inventive. From vegan lasagna to sushi rolls made with sprouts, they are on a quest to explore fresh, exciting vegan dishes. Jazzy frequently hears friends say, “I’d go vegan if you cooked for me every day!” she chuckles.

One of her motivations for launching Party Rock Farmhouse was to showcase the diverse possibilities within vegan cuisine. “I want to prove that vegan eating isn’t restricted to stir-fries or curries. You can get creative, such as crafting a fruit version of salmon—watermelon, to be precise,” she explains. “Food can be delicious and nutritious at the same time.”

For Redfoo and Jazzy, embracing veganism signifies more than dietary preferences; it represents a holistic way of living that prompts them to critically assess societal consumption. “Why is there excessive sugar in our lemonade? Why not use natural dates instead? It’s all a question of product ethics,” Redfoo suggests.

By posing such questions, they’re fostering an environment of inquiry for their daughter and the wider community, encouraging a sense of empowerment regarding health and wellness.

The Benefits of Botanical Eating

Beyond Party Rock Farmhouse, Redfoo aims to inspire positive changes through his free app, Doctor Only Plants, which includes recipes and wellness tips, alongside promoting The Sprouting Company’s easy-to-use sprouting kit.

While not everyone may have access to a large farm, the couple is dedicated to proving that making plant-based choices for better health can be more accessible and practical than many believe.

“Anyone can grow sprouts at home without even needing sunlight. The nutrition they provide is incredible. Mint and garlic can be easily grown even on a small balcony,” he explains. “We want to illustrate how simple it can be and how it can save you money.”

They hope that the confidence gained from learning new plant-based recipes, cultivating herbs at home, and improving health ultimately extends into other areas of life, fostering growth in relationships and careers. Building a connection between mind and body can significantly enhance one’s mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

The Centerpiece of Connection

Food has always been a binding force in communities, and Redfoo and Jazzy prove that this tradition can thrive without meat dominating their gatherings. They delight in hosting friends and family, frequently showcasing the tantalizing array of vegan options now available (imaginative vegan cheese boards included).

“We want our daughter and loved ones to prioritize their health,” Redfoo says. “Sharing our insights and favorite discoveries with them is important to us. Every day, we try to innovate and learn something new to share with our circle.”

Party Rock Farmhouse reveals that a plant-based lifestyle can be lively, fulfilling, and, above all, empowering. Redfoo and Jazzy are committed to positively influencing their health, the planet, and the future of their child.

Through their show, community ties, and creative pursuits, Redfoo comments, “We aim to motivate others, fostering conversations and spreading positivity. We aspire to live our healthiest, most fulfilling lives and share that love across all facets of our existence.”
